Coming in December on FRONTLINE

From Facebook’s response to the spread of false news on its platform to major privacy breaches, this year, the social media giant’s role in life and politics has taken center stage.

As Facebook faces ongoing scrutiny and 2018 draws to a close, FRONTLINE this month will offer an encore presentation of its acclaimed two-part investigation, The Facebook Dilemma, on many PBS stations (check local listings).

When The Facebook Dilemma first aired this fall, The Wall Street Journal praised it as an “aggressive, indignant, illuminating two-nighter” and said, “There’s not a lot of TV that’s genuinely ‘must see,’ but ‘The Facebook Dilemma’ qualifies.” The Los Angeles Times said the documentary “poses profound questions about corporate responsibility, the behavioral manipulation of users and what happens when a force for good is weaponized.” The Chicago Tribune called it “an engrossing lesson in the price of a ‘like.’” And The Baltimore Sun praised “Frontline’s wide-ranging, clear-eyed reporting on how Facebook betrayed its promise,” and said the documentary “might be the best Frontline production of the year.”
