FRONTLINE is pleased to join our colleagues at more than 60 public media stations around the country in the American Graduate: Let’s Make It Happen campaign, a public media initiative supported by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to help students stay on the path to graduation and future success.
In Dropout Nation, coming in fall 2012, FRONTLINE will follow a group of students in Houston, Texas, to explore the challenges faced by students as they struggle to stay in school and administrators who are working against the odds to keep them there. Our Dropout Nation community campaign will work with our national partners to host 100 screenings across the country to build awareness of the national and local issues that have led to the dropout crisis and to help communities find solutions that will lead to increased graduation rates.
We’ll be producing a DVD community outreach toolkit with additional video and resources to spotlight students in their middle school years – a time educators see as crucial to keeping students on track to graduate.
Look for Dropout Nation updates, resources and information from our public media affiliates and national outreach partners coming soon.
