What’s Next for the Vaccine Debate? Live Chat 3/25 3:00 pm ET

The Vaccine War examined the changing shape of the nation’s vaccine debate, exploring how skepticism about vaccine safety may be enabling the return of preventable diseases once thought to be eliminated from the United States. Against the backdrop of a measles outbreak that’s been linked back to Disneyland, it appears warnings that public health officials voiced to FRONTLINE when the film first aired five years ago have started to come true.

Now, we want to hear from you. On Wednesday, March 25 at 3 p.m. ET, Vaccine War producer and director Kate McMahon will take your questions about the making of the film and the ongoing conversation around immunization.

Joining her will be Lisa Aliferis, editor of KQED’s The State of Health blog; Dr. Arthur Reingold, a professor and head of epidemiology at UC Berkeley; and Carl Krawitt, the father of Rhett Krawitt, the California boy who has become a poster child for the debate over whether unvaccinated children should be allowed to attend public schools.

They’ll talk about the unfolding legislative battle in California over personal belief exemptions and what could be next for communities across the country.
