Dan Reed is a veteran documentary-maker based in London, UK, where he runs an independent production house, Amos Pictures. His work has won numerous awards including a Primetime Emmy, a Peabody and six BAFTAs. “In the Shadow of 9/11” renews his association with GBH FRONTLINE, which began with the BAFTA-winning “The Battle for Haiti”, filmed in the wake of the 2010 Haitian earthquake. Dan has worked extensively with HBO, directing their most-watched documentary, “Leaving Neverland” as well as four in-depth accounts of terrorist attacks including “Three Days of Terror: The Charlie Hebdo attacks”, “Terror at the Mall” (Nairobi, Kenya) and “Terror in Mumbai,” all of which were Emmy-nominated. Dan began his career at the BBC, working for the legendary director Adam Curtis. He is currently producing a slate of documentaries for HBO, Channel 4 (UK), BBC and Netflix.
