Jayme Lozano joined Texas Tech Public Media in 2021. She was brought to the team as part of the PBS series FRONTLINE’s Local Journalism Initiative, with support from The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Her focus has been on rural hospital closures in Texas, as well as other important healthcare matters in the state and nationally.
Previously, Jayme previously worked for the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal and the Amarillo Globe-News, covering healthcare, climate change and agriculture in the region. Her work has also been featured in the Austin American-Statesman and USA Today.
