Retro Report
Scott Michels is an award-winning journalist and senior producer at Retro Report, an independent nonprofit news organization. His short- and long-form documentaries, on topics ranging from police reform to immigration to the war in Afghanistan, have appeared on PBS, The New York Times, The New Yorker, ABC and VICE. He recently wrote and produced “Extremism in America,” a five-part digital series and broadcast film for PBS WORLD that examined the decades-long rise of violent hate groups in America. The series won the Online Journalism, Webby and EPPY awards. Scott is a graduate of New York University School of Law and Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism.
